The man who attempted to push a Fort Wayne attorney over a railing in the Tippecanoe County courthouse in 2007 was convicted of Class C felony criminal confinement Friday.
Russell A. Timmons was on trial in Tippecanoe Superior 1 for attempted murder, attempted aggravated battery, and criminal confinement. He was found not guilty of attempted murder and aggravated battery.
Timmons, who apparently was upset about a judge's order that he and his wife abide by mediation terms in an insurance case, tried to push Linda Polley over the fourth-floor railing of the courthouse. She had been an attorney in the case involving an accident in which Timmons' wife was injured. Others quickly intervened before Timmons could toss Polley over the railing.
Timmons is expected to be sentenced in September.
