63 claimants will accept settlement in State Fair stage collapse

The Office of the Indiana Attorney General has heard from all 65 claimants who were offered settlements stemming from the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair in August, and 63 will accept the settlements.

Those 63 claimants include the estates of the seven people killed. By accepting the settlements, all but $2,000 of the $5 million in tort claim funds the state had available will be allocated to the victims or their estates.

The AG’s office said it is in communication with the attorneys for the two remaining claimants to verify whether they are accepting their offers.
