Gov. Mitch Daniels has appointed Mary L. Allen as acting director of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. She replaces Mark Massa, whom Daniels selected to join the Indiana Supreme Court.

Allen will serve as director until the CJI’s board of directors votes on a permanent replacement during its June meeting. She has been deputy director of CJI since 2005. Allen’s appointment is effective April 2.
