The names of three finalists for a judgeship on the Indiana Court of Appeals have been sent to Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels for his review and selection.

The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission last week selected Marion Superior Judge Robert R. Altice Jr., public defender Patricia Caress McMath and Madison Circuit Judge Rudolph R. Pyle III as finalists. The finalists' applications are now online.

As required, Indiana Chief Justice Brent Dickson, who chairs the commission, sent a letter to Daniels Monday notifying him of the finalists and their qualifications. The governor has 60 days from the date of the letter, June 11, to announce a selection to replace Judge Carr Darden, who will retire from the appellate court next month.
