Subscribe NowThe Notre Dame Law School’s Intellectual Property and Entrepreneur Clinic has been selected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to take part in the agency’s Patent Law School Clinic Certification Pilot Program beginning this fall.
Students who enroll in the IP clinic will be able to practice patent law before the USPTO under the guidance of the clinic’s founding director, Jodi Clifford. Students will be able to draft and file patent applications for clients of the school’s clinic as well as answer office actions and communicate with patent examiners.
The clinic certification pilot is administered by the USPTO’s Office of Enrollment and Discipline, and includes Howard University School of Law, University of Colorado Law School and West Virginia University School of Law.
The IP and entrepreneur clinic was established last spring at Notre Dame with seed money to cover funding for its first three years.
