While giving your heart to your Valentine, you can also help keep other hearts healthy.

Marion County Clerk Beth White will continue her annual tradition of performing wedding ceremonies on Valentine’s Day to raise money for the American Heart Association.

Couples can have either a simple civil ceremony or vow renewal between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Clerk’s office in the City-County Building. In lieu of the officiant’s fee, the sweethearts are asked to make a voluntary $50 contribution to the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign.

Space is limited and reservations are encouraged. Couples can register by calling 327-4739. Or, for more information, visit www.indy.gov/clerk.

Since starting the annual Valentine’s Day wedding event seven years ago, White has performed 267 ceremonies and raised nearly $12,000 for the “Go Red” campaign.

To be married on Valentine’s Day, couples must present a valid marriage license.
