Students, community members and elected officials will gather inside the Indiana Statehouse for an annual statewide remembrance of the tragic events of the Holocaust.

“The 15th Annual Holocaust Observance: Honoring the Rescuers” will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. April 10 in the Statehouse rotunda. The remembrance is organized by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Commission, the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council and the Bureau of Jewish Education.

A highlight of the afternoon will be a presentation by the students of Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis. Speakers include Todd Maurer, president of the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council; Clayton Graham, chairperson of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Commission; and Jamal L. Smith, executive director of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.
