Indy, Evansville Red Mass events set for Oct. 5

The St. Thomas More Society of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis has announced that the 56th Annual Red Mass will be held Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in downtown Indianapolis.

The society of Catholic lawyers and judges’ annual event will be followed by dinner at nearby Crowne Plaza. Archbishop Joseph Tobin will preside at the Mass, and Michael Crowther, president and CEO of the Indianapolis Zoo, will be keynote speaker at the dinner.  

Local attorney and U.S. Trustee for Regions 10 and 13 Nancy Gargula will receive the Woman for All Seasons Award.

A Red Mass will also be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 5 in Evansville at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 613 Cherry St. Members of the legal community and the public are invited to attend.

The Gary Diocese plans a Red Mass at 8 a.m. Oct. 21 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Merrillville. The Mass will be followed at 9 a.m. by a breakfast and seminar. Details about those events are available here.
