A southern Indiana woman has pleaded guilty in her 3-year-old daughter's abuse death and injuries suffered by the girl's older sibling.

Twenty-five-year-old Cynthia Weigleb of Clarksville agreed Monday to plead guilty to neglect resulting in death and neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.

Her trial had been set to begin May 30 in the February 2015 death of her daughter, Alexis Arensman, and the serious injuries suffered by her 4-year-old sister.

Coroners found the younger girl died from battered child syndrome.

The News and Tribune reports Weigleg's plea deal with prosecutors calls for a 32-year prison sentence.

Weigleb's former boyfriend, 28-year-old Joseph Manske of Clarksville, was sentenced last week to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to two charges of neglect of a dependent in that case.
