Disciplinary Actions – 7/12/17

The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission brings charges against attorneys who have violated the state’s rules for admission to the bar and Rules of Professional Conduct. The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications brings charges against judges, judicial officers, or judicial candidates for misconduct. Details of attorneys’ and judges’ actions for which they are being disciplined by the Supreme Court will be included unless they are not a matter of public record under the court’s rules.

Suspension
Grant County attorney Craig R. Persinger was suspended June 30 by the Indiana Supreme Court for failing to act with reasonable diligence and promptness and failing to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter. Persigner was appointed appellate counsel in two separate criminal appeals in which later appellate counsel needed to be appointed due to Persinger’s lack of action. Persinger’s suspension is all stayed subject to completing at least two years of probation with JLAP monitoring. The costs of the proceeding are assessed against him.•
