Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard received the Administration on Children, Youth and Families Commissioner's Award for Indiana from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The 37 winners of the award from around the country were recognized for their long and rich history of serving people in need.

The award was given out at the 17th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect in Atlanta in early April. The Supreme Court has worked with state lawmakers, governor, and Department of Child Services on many projects, including the Indiana Court Improvement Program and the Family Court Project.
