A University of Cambridge legal scholar will offer his thoughts on the U.S. mortgage crisis during the 2009 Snyder Lecture at Indiana University Maurer School of Law  Tuesday. Richard G. Fentiman will present "Trading Debts – A European Solution?: Addressing the fallout from the U.S. Mortgage Crisis" at noon in the Moot Courtroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Fentiman's presentation will look at the worldwide effects of the current economic crisis and the U.S. mortgage crisis in other countries, and what steps other countries are taking to address the issues.

Fentiman is a reader in private international law at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Queens' College in Cambridge. He serves as a consultant to international law firm Allen & Overy, where he advises on conflicts arising in commercial practice.

The Snyder Lectures are named after Dr. Earl Snyder, a 1947 Indiana University law graduate and are held alternately at the University of Cambridge and the law school in Bloomington.
