Fort Wayne attorney Casey B. Cox is being sworn in Tuesday as state representative for House District 85.

Cox will fill the seat previously held by the late Phyllis Pond.

A 2007 graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Cox is an associate with Beers Mallers Backs & Salin LLP. He has also served on the Indiana University board of trustees, the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission and on the board of directors as well as the executive committee of the History Center in Fort Wayne.

Indiana Chief Justice Brent Dickson will preside over the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Supreme Court courtroom.

Cox will be joined at the ceremony by his wife, Melissa, and his two children.
