Barnes & Thornburg announced today an expansion into Minnesota thanks to an acquisition of The Parsinen Law Firm. All 22 attorneys from the Minneapolis-based law office are joining Barnes & Thornburg July 1.

In a statement, Barnes & Thornburg managing partner Alan Levin said the firm saw Minneapolis as a strategic market since the city is one of the leading business and financial centers in the Midwest. The firms started talking about combining forces in the fall of 2008.

The Parsinen Law Firm was established in 1981 and includes practices areas of employment law, business litigation, corporate law, and employee and executive benefits. Barnes & Thornburg has nearly 540 attorneys and legal professionals with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.
