The Indiana Court Improvement Project is giving out up to $350,000 in grants aimed at helping children and families who are navigating through the state’s child welfare system.

Administered through the Indiana Judicial Center, the grant program is designed for those involved in Children in Need of Services and parental termination cases. Projects that could qualify for the grants include drug court or training and mediation programs, educational brochures or guides for those in the system, and court performance measures for CHINS and termination cases.

A grant review team will review applications and make a recommendation to the CIP executive committee, which makes the final decision based on need, application quality, and probability that the project will meet its goals and objectives.

Applications for the grants, ranging from $25,000 to $35,000, is July 22 at 4 p.m. Awards will be announced on or after Aug. 15.
