9 a.m. 45S05-1305-CR-331. The Lake Superior Court released a juror from service, and Ramirez moved for a mistrial on grounds the jury had been “tainted.” The trial court denied the motion for mistrial, and Ramirez was convicted of murder and criminal gang activity. The Court of Appeals affirmed in a memorandum decision. Ramirez v. State, No. 45A05-1204-CR-224 (Ind. Ct. App. Feb. 19, 2013) (NFP mem. dec.), vacated. The Supreme Court has granted a petition to transfer the case and has assumed jurisdiction over the appeal.
