The Indianapolis legal community is making a final push to help youngsters get the supplies they need as they head back to the classroom.

The Indianapolis Bar Association will be collecting new or gently used schools supplies on the south side of Monument Circle from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 30. Items regularly needed are:

•    paper (copy and lined)
•    pens
•    pencils
•    crayons
•    Kleenex
•    Sanitizer
•    Office furniture

A full list of suggested items can be found at

The collection on Monument Circle is the culmination of the IndyBar Professionalism Committee’s campaign to “Stock the Schools” for the local non-profit, Teachers’ Treasures. For nearly two months, the Indianapolis legal community has worked to collect donations that teachers and students can use during the upcoming school year.

“We’re building on last year’s successful collection to continue to help teachers help children, and we’re doing it in a very public way on the circle in order to showcase the efforts of IndyBar attorneys to serve our community,” said Patricia McMath, chair of the association’s Professionalism Committee.

Teachers’ Treasures, established in 2000, makes free supplies available to teachers which can be used to help students complete their homework and class assignments. The organization works with more than 240 schools and benefits more than 100,000 Marion County school children.

Members of the public are also encouraged to donate school supplies by stopping by Monument Circle to contribute their items.

  4. It was all that kept us from tyranny. So sad that so few among the elite cared enough to guard the sacred trust. Nobody has a more sacred obligation to obey the law than those who make the law. Sophocles No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it. Obedience to the law is demanded as a right; not asked as a favor. Theodore Roosevelt That was the ideal ... here is the Hoosier reality: The King can do no wrong. Legal maxim From the Latin 'Rex non potest peccare'. When the President does it, that means that it is not illegal. Richard Nixon

  5. So men who think they are girls at heart can use the lady's potty? Usually the longer line is for the women's loo, so, the ladies may be the ones to experience temporary gender dysphoria, who knows? Is it ok to joke about his or is that hate? I may need a brainwash too, hey! I may just object to my own comment, later, if I get myself properly "oriented"
