Today kicks off the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball tournament, much to the joy and excitement of many (including myself).
Instead of having to take time off work to keep up with your favorite teams or scores, many people can just hit “refresh”
on their Internet browser to keep up-to-date with scores, or even stream games online.
I know every year there are news stories about how much productivity and money is lost because of the tournament. If you are a basketball fan, how much time are you devoting to this year’s tournament? Are you scheduling your meetings around certain games, taking long lunches, or even taking time off work to watch them? Are you spending time at work checking the scores?
More importantly, what’s your office’s attitude toward the games? Does your boss, or co-workers, care how much time you spend keeping up on the games or are there office policies to keep you from checking the scores?
Be honest, I know there are quite of few of you who are in office or online pools that will spend a bit of time online looking up NCAA info. I’ll be checking back to see what you have to say, right after I refresh my Web browser to see the latest scores and check my brackets.
