I recently read a piece by Penelope Trunk on CNN.com about why she thinks law school is a waste of time. In a nutshell: lawyers are really salespeople;
you’re going to end up working at a big firm even if you don’t plan to; going to law school is a cop out instead
of facing the real world; having a J.D. isn’t useful; and you shouldn’t think you’re different than others.
Since I’m not an attorney, I can’t really comment on the truth to her statements, but you can. What do you think
about the column? Do you agree or is she just trying to stir the pot?

So the column is tripe. But hey, whatever works to keep vulnerable new students out of the horrific economic conditions in our overcrowded profession. Good on you, Ms. Trunk.
