Former counsel to the president to speak on war

A former associate counsel to the president of the United States will speak at a Federalist Society event Nov. 8 on war powers and the federal government.

Bradford A. Berenson, a partner at Sidley Austin, will give a talk entitled “The murky border: war powers, the presidency, and the Congress,” at noon at the Conrad Indianapolis, 50 W. Washington St., Indianapolis. Berenson was associate counsel to the president from January 2001 to January 2003. The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, Indianapolis Lawyers Chapter Division, is hosting the event.

An hour of CLE will be available pending approval. Federalist Society members, students and government employees can attend for $20; nonmembers can attend for $25.
