The 2009 Environmental Policy Forum Spring Symposium at Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis will feature professors, members of the Indiana General Assembly and various environmental and energy organizations who will examine Indiana's energy policy and the progress and prospects for legislation.

One of the goals of the symposium is to determine where Indiana is now in terms of sustainable energy and what challenges the state may face as it progresses toward the goal of more sustainable energy.

Panelists at the event will discuss clean coal and carbon sequestration, renewable energy, and energy conservation and green buildings. Speakers include Rep. Ryan Dvorak, D-South Bend, chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee; Jesse Kharbanda, executive director of Hoosier Environmental Council; and environmental law professor Eric Dannenmaier of IU - Indianapolis.

During lunch, keynote speakers Rep. Win Moses Jr., D-Fort Wayne; Sen. Brandt Hershman, R-Monticello; and David Pippen, policy director for Environment and Natural Resources in the Governor's Office, will discuss prospects for legislation during the current term.
