With at least two anticipated vacancies on the United States Supreme Court within the next four years and numerous more vacancies at the Circuit and District Court levels, President-Elect Barack Obama will possibly appoint two U.S. Supreme Court justices in his first term in office. The Federalist Society will discuss this possibility in a free presentation, "Who Will Obama Appoint to Our Courts?" Tuesday at Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington.

Curt Levey, director of the Committee for Justice in Washington, D.C., will discuss Obama's potential federal court appointees. A report by the Committee for Justice predicts if Obama serves two terms, there is a nearly 75 percent chance he'll establish a solid liberal majority on the high court. Dan Conkle, Robert H. McKinney Professor of Law and adjunct professor of religious studies, will offer critical commentary on Levey's presentation.

The event is open to the public and will be at noon in Room 121 of the law school in Bloomington.
