Jennifer Mehalik joined Indiana Lawyer in spring 2007 and compiles the Indiana Lawyer Daily e-newsletter. She previously was a reporter for IBJ Media’s Court & Commercial Record for 14 months.

In 2008, the Indiana Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists honored Mehalik with a second-place award for an IL story about the lack of resources for jurors who have to witness grueling evidence during criminal trials. While writing for CCR, she won first-place and second-place awards for business writing from the Hoosier State Press Association.

Mehalik graduated from Indiana University in 2003 with a bachelor’s in journalism and in political science. While at IU, she wrote for the school’s newspaper, The Indiana Daily Student. After graduation, she moved back to Indianapolis and freelanced for several Indianapolis publications before joining IBJ Media.
