The Indianapolis Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society will present "Boumediene: Where do we go from here?" at noon Sept. 11 at Ice Miller in Indianapolis.

The ACS invited attorney Neil H. Koslowe, of Washington, D.C., firm Shearman & Sterling to speak at the event. Koslowe is counsel in Al Odah, Next Friend of Al Odah, et al. v. United States of America, No. 06-1196, the companion case to Boumediene, et al. v. Bush, et al., No. 06-1195 that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on in June.

Koslowe will tell the story of his client, a Kuwaiti relief worker in Afghanistan who was seized by Pakistani bounty hunters after Sept. 11, 2001. The attorney will also provide an insider's view of the struggle to secure habeas rights for Al Odah and others like him, as well as sharing the Guantanamo Bay detainee's perspectives on America's legal system.

Food will be provided at the free event, which should last about an hour. The event will take place on Ice Miller's 29th floor, One America Square, at the corner of Ohio and Illinois streets, Indianapolis. Attendees can pre-register, but registration is not necessary to attend.
