The Protective Order Pro Bono Project, which provides pro bono legal assistance to indigent victims of domestic violence
in Marion County to obtain and enforce protection orders, is starting a pro se clinic this month.
The clinic is designed for those who, for whatever reason, do not qualify for pro bono services from the POPBP. The clinic
will help protective-order petitioners and respondents understand the basics about protective orders in Indiana, what can
be expected from them in court, and how to best represent themselves pro se in these hearings.
The clinic is free and operates on a walk-in basis on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. The clinic will be from
2 to 3:30 p.m. in Marion Superior 21 Hearing Room in the City-County Building, 200 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. The first
clinic is Aug. 12. Handouts and literature will be available, as well as a Spanish interpreter.
