Keith Hylton, Hon. Paul J. Liacos Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law, will present next week Valparaiso University School of Law's annual Monsanto Lecture, which examines the theory of tort in the United States and explore ways it can be reformed.

Hylton, a former chair of the Association of American Law Schools' Torts and Compensation Systems Section, will discuss the objectivity theory of tort law. He'll use it to provide a positive theory of intent standards in tort law, which can be understood on the basis of the economic incentive effects of tort liability rules.

The lecture begins at 4 p.m. April 23 in Wesemann Hall, 656 S. Greenwich St., Valparaiso; a reception will follow the lecture.
