Speakers from the American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society will debate the definition, examples, and relevance of judicial activism at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law next week.

Professor Bill Marshall, of the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill, will represent ACS; M. Edward Whelan III, president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, will debate on behalf of the Federalist Society. Both are recognized as experts in judicial selection and confirmation.

I.U. Maurer School of Law professor Patrick Baude will moderate the debate. It's hosted by ACS, the Federalist Society, and law school Dean Lauren Robel.

The debate begins at noon March 29 in the Moot Courtroom in the law school, and is free and open to the public.
