6th annual law firm food drive kicks off

The 6th annual March Against Hunger food drive – a friendly competition among law firms to raise food and monetary donations – has started and runs through March 31.

The food drive is a collaborative effort organized by Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller, the Indiana State Bar Association and Feeding Indiana’s Hungry. The drive, which runs throughout March, will benefit Indiana’s 11 regional food banks.

Law firms and offices can donate either non-perishable food items or monetary contributions. Last year, 52 law groups participated and raised 10,065 pounds of food and $55,455 – the equivalent of 287,340 pounds of food.

The food drive has collected more than 44,166 pounds of food and $182,677 since it began in 2009.

The biggest donor in each category – extra-large firm, large firm, medium firm, small firm, sole proprietor and non-profit/public – will receive the Attorney General’s Cup.
