Attorney general suing Super Bowl home rental companies

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller filed lawsuits Thursday against two Arizona-based home rental companies for scamming residents.

The attorney general’s office says Super Week Lodging and Major Events Rentalz took money upfront and failed to provide services or refunds to clients. The companies offered to photograph, list and rent residents’ homes to visitors in town for the Super Bowl in Indianapolis in February and promised a refund if homes weren’t rented. The AG’s office received several complaints against both companies.

Super Week Lodging collected nearly $20,000; Major Event Rentalz collected nearly $9,000 from consumers without providing services. The lawsuits claim the companies operated with the intent to deceive consumers.

Zoeller is seeking full refunds for customers, civil penalties and attorney fees.
