As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndiana University Maurer School of Law and Wabash College have entered into an agreement establishing a scholarship and mentorship program for Wabash students interested in going to law school.
The Wabash Law Scholars Program will offer at least two Wabash College graduates admitted to the law school a scholarship amount to nearly 50 percent of annual tuition. The students will also have access to a formal mentoring program.
Maurer announced a similar agreement with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in March.
The scholarships will reduce the cost of law school tuition for the selected Wabash and Rose-Hulman grads anywhere from $45,000 to $75,000 over three years, depending on the student’s residency and other factors.
"A liberal arts degree from a school like Wabash is excellent preparation for the study and practice of law," said Austen L. Parrish, dean and the James H. Rudy Professor of Law at the Maurer School of Law. "Many of our most distinguished alumni are also Wabash graduates, and we are delighted to join forces with this outstanding school."
Wabash College and Rose-Hulman will nominate current students or alumni for the program beginning with the law school’s fall 2014 entering class.
