Director of northeast Indiana pro bono organization died July 3

Terry McCaffrey, the executive director of the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana, died July 3. He was 55.

McCaffrey led the organization for five years. He continued to work after he was diagnosed with lung cancer six months ago, his husband Gregory Manifold told the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette.

McCaffrey was born in Fort Wayne and lived in the city most of his life. He was president of the Arena Dinner Theatre board of directors and was a founding member of the Southside Garden Club.

He is survived by Manifold; his mother, Virginia McCaffrey; four sisters, and nieces and nephews. Services will be determined at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Arena Dinner Theatre, P.O. Box 11922 Fort Wayne, IN 46861.
