The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications filed one count against a southern Indiana town court judge who was arrested and pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated in Louisville, Kentucky.

The count centers on Clarksville Town Court Judge Mickey K. Weber’s arrest in January for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Police responded to an incident in which Weber allegedly hit and damaged two parked cars and a fence. Weber admitted to drinking and was arrested. He self-reported the arrest to the JQC.

He pleaded guilty in March to misdemeanors OWI and criminal mischief. He must complete an alcohol education class, pay fines and court costs, and his license was suspended.

The commission alleges Weber violated Rule 1.1 of the Code of Judicial Conduct, which requires judges to respect and comply with the law; and Rule 1.2, which requires judges to uphold the integrity of the judiciary and maintain high standards of conduct.

Weber has the opportunity to file an answer to the charges within 20 days. After an answer is filed or 20 days has passed, the Indiana Supreme Court will appoint three masters to conduct a public hearing on the charge.
