The school’s founding dean, Peter Alexander, stepped down unexpectedly and without explanation in May. At the time, Indiana Tech said Alexander would be working as a consultant with the institution.
Professor of Law andré douglas pond cummings was named interim dean and continues to lead the law school. He said he has applied for the dean position.
A committee of administrators and law school faculty has been formed to conduct the search. Applications are being accepted and eventually candidates will be brought to the Fort Wayne campus for on-site interviews.
Indiana Tech would not reveal details about applicants to date. The school does not have a set date as to when it hopes to have a new dean in place, but says it is focused on the process and wants find the right individual for the position.
