Jeffery Miller, 46, of Osceola said in federal court in South Bend Tuesday he used the money to feed his methamphetamine and gambling addictions. He pleaded guilty to interstate transportation of stolen goods and money laundering.
Authorities said he stole the wire from Heartland RV in Elkhart and sold it to a Michigan scrap metal dealer. The Elkhart Truth reported Miller asked for leniency, saying he could better repay his debt and parent his two children if he was free.
Miller also was ordered to pay Heartland more than $1 million in restitution.
