Indiana Supreme Court Justice Robert Rucker will receive the Merit of Distinction Award at the 3rd annual Katie Hall Public Service Awards Luncheon on April 4 in Gary.

The public service award is presented by the Katie Hall Foundation. Hall is a former U.S. representative from Indiana who authored and sponsored a bill to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a national holiday.

Before becoming a judge, Rucker was a deputy prosecutor in Lake County, city attorney for the city of Gary, and had a law practice in East Chicago.

Attorney Willie E. Gary, of Gary Williams Parenti & Watson PLLC in Stuart, Florida, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Gary has won some of the largest jury awards and settlements in U.S. history, including more than 150 cases valued in excess of $1 million each.

Tickets are available for the luncheon, which is at 11 a.m. at the Gary Genesis Convention Center. For more information, contact katiehallfoundation@aol.com
