Parr Richey Obremskey Frandsen & Patterson is presenting its 5th annual “Pedalpalooza” later this month, an event that promotes healthy lifestyles and bike safety.

The event at the Witham Family YMCA in Lebanon on April 25 is part of the nationwide YMCA’s Community Day. To promote bike safety,  members of the law firm will pass out 200 free children’s bicycle helmets and bike reflectors, and will give away two boy’s and two girl’s bicycles.

“Each year PedalPalooza allows us to promote an essential message of bike helmet safety to children and their families while celebrating the fun of spring and outdoor events at the same time,” said Paul Kruse, partner at Parr Richey and past-president of Witham Family YMCA board of directors. “The response we’ve received regarding PedalPalooza in the community is very encouraging and lets us know that families are walking away with valuable information about bike safety.”

The personal injury firm, which has offices in Indianapolis and Lebanon, says that more than half a million bicyclists visit emergency rooms each year across the country with cycling injuries and more than 1,000 bicyclists are killed annually. Wearing a helmet can reduce the likelihood of head injuries and deaths from bike crashes.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
