Allen Superior Court has announced an opening for a magistrate in the criminal division.
Applications for the position are being accepted through April 24 with the individual being hired by mid-May. Applicants must be Indiana attorneys in good standing and preferably residents of Allen County.
The magistrate will have responsibilities in the misdemeanor and traffic division, conducting arraignments, motion hearings, status conferences, jury trials, guilty pleas and sentencing hearings. This judicial officer will participate in projects to improve caseflow management and must perform other duties as assigned.
Annual compensation for the magistrate is $107,290 plus county and state benefits.
