A woman wrongfully convicted of setting a fire that killed her 3-year-old son wants her two lawsuits alleging that investigators framed her combined into a single case.
Forty-one year-old Kristine Bunch spent 17 years in prison after being convicted of setting a June 1995 fire at her Greensburg-area mobile home that killed Anthony M. Bunch.
She was released in 2012 after an appeals court reversed her conviction due to discrepancies in evidence.
Bunch is suing two fire marshal investigators, alleging their conduct led to her conviction. She's also suing a federal forensic chemist who she alleges conspired to fabricate evidence that aided in her conviction.
The Greensburg Daily News reports Bunch's attorney filed paperwork Wednesday in federal court in Indianapolis indicating she'll ask a court to combine the cases.
