An Indiana-based e-filing company offering service enhancements is the first certified alternative provider for the state trial and appellate courts’ fledgling electronic filing program.

Richmond-based Green Filing on Thursday announced its certification to offer e-filing service beyond the state-court-provided basic e-filing portal. The company said it would offer a free one-month trial period for attorneys. The company lists its Indiana offerings here.

“We are very happy to be able to provide what we believe is the easiest e-filing solution to Indiana, just as we have in Utah and Texas,” said Eric Eastman, Green Filing’s co-founder overseeing technical development.

Currently limited to trial courts in Hamilton County and the Indiana Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, e-filing is scheduled to be rolled out statewide by the end of 2018.

Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathryn Dolan said Green Filing was the first of several alternative e-filing vendors the state expects to certify.

Green Filing offers a range of services and pricing, from a $1 per filing plan to $69 a month for high-volume filers who may file up to 150 pleadings per month. In addition to e-filing, the company touts added features such as customizable reports for filing activity and fee and cost tracking.
