Applications are due in late January. The court wants to hire the new magistrate in February. Ross’s retirement is effective Feb. 29.
Job duties include participating in projects to improve caseflow management and conducting arraignments, motion hearings, status conferences, jury trials, and guilty pleas and sentencing hearing.
The applicant must also be willing and able to work extended or non-traditional hours, if necessary, and be accepting of public and media scrutiny of their public and private lives.
Total compensation is $113,650 annually, as well as county and state benefits.
