Law firms’ March Against Hunger raises nearly $60,000

Law firms from around Indiana led the way in the Indiana State Bar Association’s annual March Against Hunger campaign, raising $59,408 in cash donations and 7,560 pounds of food to provide to the state’s 11 regional food banks.

The ISBA announced these organizations had collected the most in their divisions during the month of March:

  • Sole Proprietor — Siegel Law Office, Evansville ($1,730 monetary donations, 54 pounds of food);
  • Small Firm (2-11 attorneys) — Wilson Kehoe Winingham, Indianapolis ($1,750 monetary donations, 445 pounds of food);
  • Medium Firm (12-21 attorneys) — Wilkinson Goeller Modesitt Wilkinson & Drummy, Terre Haute ($2,650 monetary donations);
  • Large Firm (22-49 attorneys) — Burke Costanza & Carberry, Merrillville ($4,000 monetary donations; 280 pounds of food);
  • X-Large Firm (50+ attorneys) — Barnes & Thornburg – South Bend/Elkhart offices ($7,000 monetary donations; 183 pounds of food); and
  • Public/Non-Profit/Local Bar — Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Indianapolis, ($5,028 monetary donations; 11 pounds of food).


Nearly 50 firms and organizations participated in the 2016 event. https://inbar.site-ym.com/page/2016mahparticipants  Since 2009, the food drive has generated a total of 70,019 pounds of food and $341,435.91 in monetary donations for Indiana food banks.  

An event featuring co-sponsor Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and ISBA president Carol Adinamis that was to take place Wednesday afternoon to honor the winners with “The Attorney General’s Cup” was cancelled due to a scheduling complication, the AG’s office announced Wednesday morning. The awards presentation has not yet been rescheduled.
