The following 7th Circuit Court of Appeals opinion was posted after IL deadline Tuesday:

Appeal from U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division. Judge William T. Lawrence.
Civil. Affirms declaratory judgment that Great West Casualty does not have to indemnify Linda Phillips, the driver of a truck for Hoker Trucking, who struck Mike Robbins’ car, which led to his death, or Hoker for any liability in connection with the accident. The trailer on the truck at the time of the accident belonged to Lakeville Motor Express Inc., which had insurance through Great West. Hoker and Philips are excluded as insured parties under the policy through Great West.

Criminal. Affirms Level 5 felony possession of a handgun without a license conviction. The trial court did not abuse its discretion in admitting the handgun at trial, which was found after a warrantless inventory search of Weathers’ vehicle after he was stopped and arrested for driving without a license.
