The ICLEO program, created by the state Supreme Court 20 years ago, is designed to help minority, low-income and educationally disadvantaged students pursue a law degree and legal career in Indiana. The goal is to increase diversity in the legal profession.
Students accepted into ICLEO will be eligible to attend a preparatory institute in June that offers academic rigor, professional development, field visits and social events the summer before their 1L year. Students who complete the summer institute will then become eligible for a scholarship for up three years. The scholarship is currently set at $4,500 per semester.
Eligible students must be college graduates by June 2017 and have an active application on file at an Indiana law school. ICLEO applications are due by Feb. 15, 2017, and can be accessed here.
