This year’s commencement ceremony at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law will feature a keynote address from Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steven David.

David will deliver the May 12 commencement address during IU McKinney’s graduation ceremony in the Indiana Convention Center.  David, the second-most senior judge on the court, graduated from IU McKinney in 1982 before beginning active duty in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps until 1986.

David continued his military career on reserve duty until 2010, when he retired as a colonel. His civilian legal practice included work in private practice and as the Boone Circuit Court judge, a position he held until he was appointed to the state’s highest court in October 2010.

IU McKinney students selected speakers to represent the various 2017 graduating classes during the May ceremony at the annual Barristers Ball in February.  The full-time J.D. division speaker will be Robyn Pauker and the part-time J.D. division speaker will be Jessi Hilger. Additionally, the master of laws speaker will be Aline Doral Stefani Fagundes, while the master of jurisprudence speaker will be Karen Rogers.
