Cathedral High School in Indianapolis finished third in the country and Plainfield High School in Plainfield took fourth place. They were among 56 teams from across the country that participated in the competition which tests students’ knowledge of U.S. history, the federal government and the Constitution. The final competition rounds were held on Capitol Hill in congressional hearing rooms.
“This is an incredible accomplishment and it demonstrates the amazing talent in our state from our students to our teachers as well as our supporters and volunteers,” said Charles Dunlap, executive director of the Indiana Bar Foundation.
The We the People program is administered in Indiana by the Indiana Bar Foundation. Students in elementary, middle and high schools around the state study the civic curriculum and participate in annual regional and state competitions.
