A suspended lawyer who formerly worked in northern Indiana and was charged with scamming elderly investors has pleaded guilty to another charge in the case.

The South Bend Tribune reported 61-year-old Eric Marshall pleaded guilty to bank fraud Wednesday in federal court. He earlier pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of securities fraud related to one client he allegedly defrauded. He earlier was ordered to repay more than $2.5 million to clients.

The newspaper said federal prosecutors intend to drop additional remaining counts after Marshall’s July 18 sentencing.

Marshall, formerly of South Bend and also known as Sven Eric Marshall, was charged last year arrested in January in Clearwater, Florida following a nationwide FBI manhunt.

The U.S. attorney’s office has said he ran an elder abuse scam through an investment company. Marshall was indefinitely suspended from the practice of law for failing to respond to a show cause order issued by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.
