Former Allen County judge dies

Former Allen Superior Judge Norman E. Baker died Wednesday in Fort Wayne. Baker, an Evansville native, served as an Allen Superior Court Civil Division judge. He also served as a senior judge in the court.

Judge Baker, 73, was a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, Mizpah Shrine, and the Fort Wayne Country Club. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Judge Baker is survived by his wife, Betty; sons Thomas Baker and Michael Baker; daughters Pamela Swaidner, Jacqueline Cutshall, and Katherine Baker; and seven grandsons.

A memorial calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A calling will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, Fort Wayne. A memorial service at the church will begin at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
