Joseph Hogsett, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, presented an award Tuesday that honors people whose commitment and effort has a positive impact on the lives of crime victims in Indiana.

Hogsett honored Maria Wildridge with the United States Attorney’s Carol S. Morris Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Rights of Victims.

A press release from Hogsett’s office said Wildridge, Latino services coordinator for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, excels at assisting her co-workers, police officers, and other city and county agencies. She also spends many evenings and weekends talking to Spanish-speaking victims, witnesses, and family members involved in cases pending in Marion County.

Hogsett presented the annual award in celebration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, a time of nationwide remembrance and reflection for crime victims and those who assist them.
