Heather L. Wilson has been named member-in-charge of the Indianapolis office of Frost Brown Todd LLC effective Jan. 1, 2015, the firm announced. Wilson will succeed Nelson D. Alexander, who has led the office since 2004.

“I am honored to be a part of firm leadership as we continue to define our legacy as a great law firm,” Wilson said. “Nelson leaves big shoes to fill and I am thankful that he will continue to be actively engaged with the firm as we remain committed to our attorneys, our clients and our communities.”

A labor and employment attorney, Wilson focuses her law practice in the areas of employment litigation and general business counseling. She will continue the firm’s focus on client development and satisfaction through a number of local and regional initiatives already in place.

Alexander announced earlier this year that he would step down to devote more time to strategic growth initiatives at the firm and to focus on client service and business development initiatives. During his term as member-in-charge, the firm, formerly known as Locke Reynolds, merged with Frost Brown Todd, adding significant strength to the firm's Midwest footprint.

“It has been wonderfully rewarding to serve as member-in-charge during this past decade. I pass the torch to Heather with complete confidence and support,” said, Alexander a member of the firm's business litigation practice group.

“Nelson Alexander is an outstanding leader and has been a driving force behind the growth of Frost Brown Todd Indianapolis,” said John Crockett, chairman of the firm. “Under Nelson’s leadership, our Indy office has expanded in many service areas, such as public finance, government services and business practices.”

Wilson serves on the board of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and has chaired its Civil Justice Committee as well as helped expand the organization’s annual Human Resources Conference for the past eight years. Recently named the Indiana Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year, she plans to seek out areas to enhance the firm’s community and civic involvement.
