General DACA Information
On September 5th, 2017 DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), a program that offered nearly 800,000 Dreamers protection from deportation and the ability to work lawfully in the United States, was rescinded. For now, people who currently have or previously had DACA are allowed to continue applying to renew their deferred action status. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to decide by June 2020 if DACA will continue, so this event may be the Clinic’s last chance for the foreseeable future to help clients with these renewals.
